Caravan of migrants heads toward U.S. as Trump threatens to close southern border

A caravan of migrants, mostly from Honduras, swelled to more than 7,000 over the weekend, according to Mexican authorities. The group is headed toward the U.S., but President Trump has promised to mobilize the military and close the southern border if they reach the U.S. CBS News correspondent Adriana Diaz is with the group in Mexico.

The extraordinary proposal, which has not been finalized, would have the Department of Homeland Security and Department of Justice attempt to make certain migrants ineligible for asylum if they have been barred from the country by a presidential proclamation. A presidential proclamation would then cite a statute that allows for the president to block those who are detrimental to the interests of the country.
