Total Lunar Eclipse & Mars at Opposition 2018

The Sun, Earth, our Moon and Mars fall into a rare alignment on 27 July 2018. Mars and the Sun will be directly on opposite sides of the sky from our point of view, so the Red Planet will appear bigger and brighter than usual. The Sun, Earth, and Moon will be perfectly aligned, so viewers on Earth’s night side will enjoy a total lunar eclipse.
